About Nicole
I’m Nicole Mauro, a licensed therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting adults and adolescents as they navigate the challenges of anxiety, breakthrough stress and sadness, depression, stress, and major life transitions. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life and to help clients find peace working through stress and life transitions.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a highly effective approach for managing anxiety and depression by helping you understand and reframe unhelpful thought patterns. I also integrate mindfulness and meditation practices into sessions to help you build resilience, regulate emotions, and stay grounded in the present moment.
In addition to CBT, I have advanced training in:
- Client Centered Therapy – emphasizes self-actualization, personal growth and self-acceptance iin a supportive environment
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – focused on building skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness
- Problem-Solving Therapy – designed to equip you with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges with confidence
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) – encourages accepting thoughts and emotions while committing to value-driven actions
My approach is client-centered and collaborative — meaning we’ll work together to identify your goals and the treatment strategies that feel right for you. We’ll explore how your experiences with anxiety, depression, or life transitions affect you personally and find ways to ease your symptoms, gain clarity, and move forward with purpose. Your story, your pace, and your comfort are always at the heart of our work.
I truly believe that healing begins with connection. I bring empathy, compassion, and warmth into every session, and I will support and encourage you as we uncover your strengths and build the life you want to live.
Let’s take this journey together.
